Films & Chips is a testament to the enduring creative collaboration and friendship of three filmmakers: Marek Čermák, Karolína Dvorská Fránková and Hana Blaha Šilarová.
Based in Prague, Czech Republic, the company is dedicated to producing a diverse range of high-quality, innovative audiovisual projects for a global audience. Its portfolio includes short fiction films and international documentary projects, while also actively developing feature-length films, animated works, series, and pioneering multi-genre projects from emerging filmmakers.
The producers’ previous films have been showcased at many prestigious festivals, including the Venice International Film Festival, Geneva IFF, Thessaloniki IDFF, Games for Change and Kaohsiung FF (VR film Darkening, 2022), the International Film Festival Rotterdam and Clermont Ferrand (experimental short Medical Field Guide or Rules of Engagement with Native E-Girls, 2025), FIPADOC, Zagrebdox and Millenium Docs Against Gravity (documentary film The Investigator, 2022) and the Mill Valley Film Festival (short film Everything Will Be OK Again, 2023).
While the company’s primary focus is on audiovisual production, Films & Chips selectively applies its expertise to commercial projects as well, collaborating with distinguished clients such as the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Choir, SONY Classical International or Academy of Performing Arts.
Beyond production, the company is committed to fostering well-being, gender balance, and inclusivity within the film industry. It educates and empowers its co-workers to cultivate and practice these values, organizes workshops on these topics for its teams and provides consultancy services to other production companies seeking to implement best practices in these areas.

KAROLÍNA DVORSKÁ FRÁNKOVÁ
Karolína Fránková fell in love with cinema immediately after she has watched her mothers entire collection of Pedro Almodóvar films. She graduated in 2020 at the Production department at Prague’s FAMU. During her studies she established a long-term cooperation with directors Marek Čermák, Myro Klochko and writer Alice Krajčírová with whom she is currently working on their first or second films. She graduated with a thesis dedicated to the Analysis of marketing tools of the most attended films in Czechia in 2019, film marketing is her passion. Prior to FAMU, she gained a bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University, where she researched behavior on social media. She has experience as a production manager and coordinator and has also worked for several festivals (Be2Can, Febiofest). Currently she works as a Head of Film production department in a non - profit organization Post Bellum and together with Marek Čermák founded a production company called Films & Chips.

MAREK ČERMÁK
Marek graduated from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies from Palacky University in Olomouc and from the Department of Directing on FAMU. He studies post-gradual program on Palacky University, where he also used to teach analytical seminar about contemporary cinema. He works as a freelance director and editor and as a member of the FIPRESCI he ofter writes about cinema. He was a personal assistant for director Agnieszka Holland on the film Charlatan, where he also worked as a Post-production Coordinator.
Marek participated the MIDPOINT Feature Launch in 2016, Zurich Film Festival Industry Academy 2020 and Talent Nest Vilnius 2022. He worked as a Head of Development for Marlene Film Production from 2019 to 2021 and since November 2020 he works as Game Designer for Warhorse Studios.
Marek is a member of Association of Czech Audiovisual Directors and Screenwriters, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and member of the European Film Academy.

HANA BLAHA ŠILAROVÁ
Hana Blaha Šilarová is a film producer. Her finished projects are a VR film Darkening (Venice IFF premiere, 2022), documentaries The Investigator (Ji.hlava IDFF, Opus Bonum section, 2022) and Never Happened (Warsaw IFF, 2019). She develops various other projects, such as feature fictions Two Worlds (Barbora Chalupová) and Homeland (Marek Čermák; produced with Karolína Fránková), a documentary Garden of Dreams (Marta Zveibil Hrubá), an animated short The Molepire (Marek Čermák) or TV series Three Against the Gestapo. She is an alumnus of the Emerging Producers 2023 workshop. She worked for VOD platform DAFilms.com as a PR Manager and at Days of European Films in Prague as a program director. She graduated in Film Studies at Charles University and in Production at FAMU.
